Introduction
Most GEO reporting platforms are created for marketers looking to understand how their brand features in AI responses.
Releasd is built for PR professionals looking to understand how their specific media coverage influences AI responses.
Online coverage URLs are first added to a Releasd report. The platform automatically fetches and visualises each article.
Users can then select from a range of charts and metrics to measure the influence that their media coverage is likely to have on relevant AI responses.
These analytics help with Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO). In other words, PRs can get better at creating stories and generating coverage that meaningfully impacts AI.
In this article, we will provide a summary of how AI interacts with earned media, explore all available analytics within Releasd, then explain how to add them to reports.
How do AI Models Interact with Earned Media?
AI chat services like ChatGPT and Claude are popular in part because they provide highly personalised and thoughtful responses.
In order to do this, AI models will often perform live web searches - especially when the information needs to be up-to-date.
Earned media coverage can be one of the primary influences for these live responses, because it is seen as fresh, impartial and credible.
Muck Rack's May 2026 analysis of 25M+ AI-cited links found earned media accounts for 84% of all citations, versus just 0.3% for paid content.
It is often possible to measure which articles have influenced AI responses - and that underpins the analytics below.

AI Impact Score
This is the overall likelihood that all online coverage in a report will influence AI responses. It's an average of the AI Impact Scores for each individual article.
The score itself combines Quality (i.e. the relevance and readability of an article) and Visibility (i.e. whether the coverage can actually be accessed by AI models - some publishers simply block them).
An article with high Visibility and Quality will have a strong AI Impact Score
An article that is not visible to AI will have a score of 0, regardless of its quality
The AI Impact Score chart can be found in the Charts & Graphs widget.
Different Brand Keywords can be analysed side-by-side.

The AI Impact Score metric can be found in the Summary Metrics widget.

AI Impact: Article Quality
An article that includes clear information that precisely answers an AI user's prompt will be selected over one that is vague or irrelevant.
This is represented by the Article Quality Score.
There are many factors that contribute to the score including:
Topical match (overall focus)
Passage-level match (specific segment focus)
Freshness (how up-to-date the content is)
Originality (e.g. unique editorial content vs pasted press release)
Trust / authority (niche publications can still outweigh mainstream outlets based on the nature and audience of the story)
Clarity and extractability (AI readability)
Article type (feature, list, op-ed)

AI Impact: Article Visibility
The impact of any given article on AI responses is affected by how easily it can be crawled by AI bots.
Some publishers are happy for their content to be used by AI models, while others are not. In some cases, certain AI bots are blocked but others are allowed.
The AI Impact: Article Visibility chart shows the overall visibility for all online coverage in a report.
All articles start off with a score of 100, and this is reduced based on how many bots are blocked
A score of 0 means that all bots are blocked
The AI Impact: Article Visibility chart can be found in the Charts & Graphs widget.
Different Brand Keywords can be analysed side-by-side.

The AI Impact: Article Visibility metric can be found in the Summary Metrics widget:

AI Impact: Branded vs Non-Branded Prompts
This chart shows the likelihood of coverage being used as an AI source for 'Branded' and 'Non-Branded' prompts.
It helps PRs understand the AI impact of their coverage at different stages of the buyer journey.
Non-Branded prompts do not include the brand name. For example, "What are the most popular cruises in Norway?" They tend to be used by consumers who are performing initial research and are in the early 'awareness' phase of the buyer journey
Branded prompts do include the brand name. For example, "Is the Hurtigruten cruise a good way to see the Norwegian fjords?" They tend to be used by consumers who are seeking more information on a specific solution and are in the 'consideration' phase of the buyer journey
The AI Impact: Article Quality vs Visibility chart can be found in the Charts & Graphs widget.

The AI Impact: Branded vs Non-Branded metrics can be found in the Summary Metrics widget.

AI Impact: Top Prompts
The Releasd platform 'reads' all articles added to a report, then automatically generates a wide range of realistic prompts that are pertinent to the brand or story in question.
The AI Impact: Top Prompts table lists the prompts that are most likely to be influenced by the coverage in a report.
It can be found in the Charts & Graphs widget.
Results can be broken down by different Brand Keywords (tabbed).

AI Impact: Prompt Topics
This chart groups prompts into broad themes. It provides insights into the reasons why the audience is using AI in the first place. What are they trying to achieve?
The AI Impact: Prompt Topics chart can be found in the Charts & Graphs widget.
Results can be broken down by different Brand Keywords (tabbed).
