Online Coverage Widget

Last Updated: Jun 12, 2019 01:21PM BST
The Online Coverage Widget lets you quickly and easily add summaries of articles from around the web.

It's perfect for highlighting key coverage or showcasing your own articles or blog posts.

Simply copy and paste the article URL and Releasd will generate a summary featuring an image, headline, the first paragraph and a link to the original article. You can edit all content, and add captions.

1. Drag and drop an Online Coverage widget from the Toolbar onto the page

2. Click the blue button

3. Add a Title and Description if desired, and click 'Manage Articles'

4. Paste URLs individually, or via spreadsheet

In the pop-up, you can choose from two options. By selecting 'Paste URLs' tab, you can individually paste links one below the other. Or you can click on the 'Upload Multiple URLs from a Spreadsheet' and upload a spreadsheet with lots of links.

Tip: If pasting URLs, put each on a separate line as shown below

Tip: If uploading via spreadsheet, use the template provided

Change the Article Image

The Widget will automatically pull in a selection of images from the article web page, usually the main image from the article. If you wish to use a different image, click on 'Select Image' from the Actions menu:

On the next screen, you'll see a selection of the images that the widget was able to find in the article. Click the image you'd like to use and click 'done'. Alternatively, chose 'Upload an image from my computer'.

Change the article Headline and Text

The Widget will automatically pull in the article headline and a short summary (either the first paragraph or a summary that the web page publisher has specified).

You can overwrite these defaults with your own text by selecting 'Edit Headline & Text' from the Actions menu.

Enter your own headline and body text to see it automatically appear in the preview, and click 'Save'.

Add captions to your articles

You can add captions to each individual article. Add your own commentary, highlight a great quote from the article, or list some key stats to provide useful context for the recipient.

To add a caption, click the '+ caption' button or select 'Caption' from the Actions menu.

Then add your caption. You can also change the title from Caption to something more appropriate such as Key Quote, Comment or Stats. Finally, click the 'Save' button.
